The National Media Awards 2011 is aimed to duly acknowledge and recognise excellence in the Irish media and reward Irish Journalists whose commitments to excellence best informs the Irish and the nation.

The award winners are chosen on the basis of journalistic excellence. This varies according to individual categories, but in general, criteria include newsworthiness, research, writing, production and creative flair.

The entries will be carefully scrutinized by a robust and independent judging panel and finalists will be selected for each award. Closing date for entries is 2nd December 2010.

The winners will be announced at the National Media Awards Drinks Reception at the Dining Hall, Trinity College, Dublin on Wednesday Febraury 16th 2011.
