It is in your interest to provide as much detail as possible: precisely what you did, what you were trying to achieve, what conditions you were working under, why you think the work is good, what response it got, what happened next.
Do no exaggerate. If you work reaches the final round  of the awards it will be subject to background check with your editor and colleagues. Feel free to include detail that could not be published for legal, moral or ethical reasons if it gives better context to your contribution to the work.

You may write a supporting statement of up to 300 words for each piece of work you submit.

I am not a member of the NUJ. Can I still enter the Awards?
No. This awards programme is only open to members of the NUJ. If you would like to become a member please request an NUJ number from the NUJ National Office, Spencer House, Spencer Row, off Store Street, Dublin.
