Colm O’Connor graduated from University College Cork with an honours degree in English and History in 1995.
His journalistic career began in 1996 when he joined Ennis based radio station Clare FM as sports editor before progressing to anchor news and current affairs programming.
After a spell working in Australia, the Kerry native was hired by the Irish Examiner in 2001. In the past eight years he has covered a variety of sports from GAA to the Olympic Games in Beijing. He is currently Deputy Sports Editor with the newspaper.
O’Connor has continued his radio involvement contributing to stations throughout Ireland, England and Australia on a variety of topics while he is a former judge for the prestigious PPI Radio Awards.
