CONOR BRADY is Commissioner of the Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission, one of three persons appointed by the President of Ireland in 2006 to direct the national police oversight body. From 1986 to 2002 he was editor of 'The Irish Times.' He was editor of 'The Sunday Tribune' from 1980 to 1982 and previously worked as a reporter/presenter with RTE News. He was president of the World Editors Forum (Paris) from 1996 to 2001 and chair of the Advisory Council at the European Journalism Centre at Maastricht from 1995 to 2001. He was a Visiting Professor at the City University of New York from 2003 to 2006 and a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business over the same period.
