Marie Louise O'Donnell studied at Nottingham University,
NUI Maynooth, UCD and The Guild Hall School of Music and Drama in London. She also trained as a professional actress and theatre director. She became head of Drama at Carysfort Teacher Training College.
She trained in Radio Production and Presentation with the BBC
and made and presented Programmes for BBC Radio 4 for several years. As a member of staff in DCU for 20 years she lectures in the School of Communications.
She initiated The Arts on the young DCU University campus in the 90s, the development of which culminated in the imaging, the building and the launch of The Helix in 2002. She has lectured extensively in Ireland, Europe and the USA and is a noted after dinner speaker. She has presented programmes on television and radio and is a regular reviewer and media contributor. She is a published writer. She has been chosen as master of ceremonies for national and international events.
