She is the Course Director of two new journalism programmes that started in UL this academic year – the BA in Journalism and New Media and the Graduate Diploma/MA in Journalism..Before joining the University of Limerick, Mary worked as journalist for 16 years with The Kerryman, The Corkman and The Irish Examiner newspapers. While working as a Political Reporter with The Irish Examiner she was a regular contributor to the RTE current affairs programmes - Primetime, The Week in Politics and Questions and Answers.  Mary won a Justice Media Award in 2000 for an investigative piece on the judicial system entitled, Who Judges the Judges?
