Commenced career on Sligo Champion(1961), moving on to Donegal People’s Press, Irish Press and Brighton Evening Argus before move to Fleet Street in 1968. Short-lived residencies as News Editor of Daily News, Dublin, which shut down after 16 issues, and Century Radio which survived two years before it also closed. Married to Bernadette(the world’s greatest confidence-booster), father of three and grandfather of five.
